Manu Brazo is an innovative saxophonist and creator who is redefining the concept of the 21st-century classical musician. With millions of views across his videos and a global audience, he has established himself as one of the leading figures of the saxophone on social media, combining a strong international performing career with a powerful digital and educational presence.
His sound, sensitivity and virtuosity have led him to perform in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including the Berlin Philharmonie, Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, Royal Opera House, St Martin-in-the-Fields, the Presidential CSO ADA Ankara Concert Hall in Turkey, the Manuel de Falla Auditorium in Granada, and the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville. He has also been invited to high-profile events such as the Royal Gala Dinner at the Painted Hall in Greenwich, and has taken part in productions such as Los Bailes Robados by David Coria, with performances in Austria and France. In 2023, he performed at Hermès’ national event “Horse Market” in Madrid, and in 2026 he was featured in the official Medal of Andalusia ceremony at the Real Alcázar of Seville.
As a soloist, he has collaborated with orchestras including the Bayerisches Kammerorchester Bad Brückenau, City of Southampton Orchestra, Orquesta Ciudad de Almería, Orquesta Bética de Cámara and Guildford Symphony Orchestra, among others. In 2018, he performed at the BBC Proms with the Britten-Pears Orchestra under Marin Alsop. His career also includes premieres of contemporary works and collaborations with international composers such as José Elizondo, alongside the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.
Manu has received numerous awards and recognitions. In 2022, he was awarded the Audience Prize at the prestigious Prince’s Prize by The Musicians Company, becoming the only Spanish musician to receive this distinction. In 2019, he was one of only three Spanish musicians awarded by the PDGYA programme of Making Music, and in 2020 he was selected as a member of The Musicians Company. In 2023, the Spanish magazine Melómano dedicated to him its “Promesas cumplidas” feature, making him the first saxophonist to be featured in this section. He was named BBC Introducing Artist in 2018 and has appeared multiple times on Classic FM and BBC Radio, where his performance was described as “incredible and 100% colossal”.
Alongside his performing career, Manu has a strong commitment to education and outreach. He is the founder of AprendeSaxofonOnline.com, through which he has trained hundreds of students worldwide, and co-creator of Club del Saxo in collaboration with the music store Sanganxa, organising educational and community events for saxophonists in Xàtiva (Valencia). In 2026, he was invited to give a masterclass at the Royal College of Music in London and participated as a speaker in the Tour del Talento by the Fundación Princesa de Girona, presenting his lecture-recital “Reinventing Your Musical Career” in cities such as Alcalá de Henares and Huesca — a talk he had previously delivered in 2023 at Greenwich Business School in London.
As a recording artist, he has developed a distinctive line of projects that bridge classical and popular traditions. In 2020, he released his debut EP SOLO DIALOGUE, broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Classic FM and Scala Radio. In 2021, he released his first full album FOLK-LORE with pianist Pepe Fernández, a project that blends classical music with popular and flamenco influences. In 2023, he released FANTASIA, recorded in Milan with pianist Bryan Evans, professor at the Royal College of Music and director of Diva Opera.
Manu studied at the Royal College of Music in London, where he completed both his Master in Performance and Artist Diploma with top honours under the guidance of Kyle Horch. He previously trained at the Conservatorio Superior de Música Manuel Castillo in Seville with Juan Jiménez, and at the Conservatorio Profesional Francisco Guerrero with Alfonso Romero.
He is currently an ambassador for Selmer Paris, D’Addario, BAM Cases and Carbonissimo, and regularly collaborates with leading brands. Manu Brazo represents a new generation of classical musicians: versatile, entrepreneurial and deeply connected with today’s audiences.
"I find the challenge with most saxophone players, although I haven’t had this experience with you which is good... you seem to have a real ability to blend with the rest of the section but know when to step out so I think you have all the right instincts too"
Marin Alsop
